Shark Tank Judge Vineeta Singh Slams West Bengal's New Workplace Safety Measures for Women

**Mumbai —** Vineeta Singh, a judge on "Shark Tank" and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, has sharply criticized the new workplace safety measures for women introduced by the West Bengal government. These measures come in the wake of widespread protests over the tragic rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
Singh's criticism focuses on the recent guidelines which suggest that women should avoid night duties wherever possible. In her response, Singh argues that such restrictions do not effectively address the core issues of women's safety and, instead, perpetuate a culture of inequality.
"This is NOT the change women are seeking!" Singh asserted in a social media post. She expressed concern that these measures impose additional limitations on women and signal to young girls that their freedom and opportunities will always be compromised. Singh contends that rather than alleviating fears, these guidelines contribute to a sense of insecurity and reinforce the notion that women's rights are secondary.
Singh’s comments reflect a broader dissatisfaction with piecemeal reforms and highlight the need for more comprehensive and meaningful actions to ensure true gender equality and safety in the workplace. The debate underscores a critical demand for systemic changes that genuinely address and rectify the challenges faced by women in professional environments.
